Effective Reading Skills and Strategies for Heritage Students

Abstract:
Reading comprehension is difficult to acquire from reading alone, without realistic situational experience. Therefore, various strategies are required to build effective reading skills. this panel will discuss various strategies for teaching reading skills from the L2 level to the near-native level, including metacognition and comprehesion strategies and performance/acting-out and retelling.
